What does the theme "Pride Through Protest" mean to you personally?

While we the LGBTQIA+ community is dealing with all these new laws taking place all over the world. Together in resilience and in solidarity we stand! Pride through protest means continuing the fight until we win; the fight started in 1969 and until this very second we’re fighting for our freedom to be who we are Let’s yell; let’s protest the fight isn’t over, let’s riot; let’s yell, The fight isn’t over!

Why are you participating in Royalty In Recovery? (Share your why-your story, your motivation, or what this pageant means to you)

I was addicted Cocaine for more than 20 years working the nightlife I would get it for free; while my husband of 25 years stopped partying  18 years ago. I continued while also drinking, not until 2021 shortly after the Covid pandemic I almost lost my life while my husband was asleep after a night gig, when I came back to realization I then realized I had to put a stop to the addiction immediately. I was also ashamed to share my journey until We moved to Miami Fl, For 2 years while there I was able to reflect, refocus and find myself. This year I celebrate 4 years of sobriety and recovery while also celebrating 26 years with the love of my life. Being able to participate in this pageant not allow me to speak about my story but it also allows me to LISTEN too others and find ways I can be OF help to them. My motivation will always be to advocate and speak for those that are afraid Of rejections for being sober and going through recovery Being able to continue doing what I love so much while sober truly can be an inspiration to someone!
