They/Them
San Antonio, Texas
This theme means that being proud and unapologetic about who I am is my protest. There is a time to march and a time to dance, and a time for both. It’s about refusing to let them take our queer joy, talent, love, and creativity.
I am participating in this event because recovery is about showing everyone they belong and that joy and creativity are our birthright.
It is the foundation of my life and identity.
I can lick my elbow
My favorite pageant moment is when Steve Harvey crowned the wrong winner. It made me question all the times I had lost.
My abuela. I watched as over her final years she lost the ability to use her body. She never once let that stop her from being a source of love and support. I think about that everyday.
I am so grateful for recovery and the recovery community showing me that no matter what we face in our lives, we no longer have to face it alone. Drag is a gift of my recovery and I do it in service of you to spread joy, humor, and hope.
